I make this simple dish every time I prepare fried rice or noodles. It’s a sauce which compliments the Chinese fried rice/noodles. I usually use the stir fry vegetable mix which is easy to find in the frozen section for making this. Its so simple, you can make in 5-10 minutes. There are many deep fried recipes available, but this is healthy and a tasty version.
Ingredients
- 2tsp garlic-finely chopped
- 2 tsp ginger -finely chopped
- ½ onion- Roughly chopped
- 2-3 cups- Frozen/fresh stir fry vegetables
- 1-2 stems- green onion
- 1 tsp- olive oil/sesame oil
Sauce
- ½ tsp- chilli sauce/ chilli flakes
- 1 tsp- rice wine vinegar
- 1tsp- oyster/soya sauce
- 2-3 tsp – tomato paste/tomato ketchup
- 2-3 tsp- corn flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- In a pan, pour some oil and then add chopped ginger and garlic and fry for a few seconds.
- Then add the chopped onions and stir fry for a min followed by the stir fry vegetables.
- Add all the sauces to the vegetables.
- Dissolve the corn flour in half a cup of water or as per the thickness of the sauce and add it.
- In a minute the sauce will get thicked ( do not over boil the cornflour mixture, else it will lose its thickness)
- Sprinkle some chopped green onions and its ready to be served.
Benefits of Ginger & Garlic
- Ginger can not only be warming on a cold day, but can help promote healthy sweating, which is often helpful during colds and flu.

- A great way to lower LDL cholesterol levels and tryglycerides, while increasing the beneficial cholesterol or HDL, is also through the use of garlic.
- One reason for the beneficial effects may be garlic’s ability to reduce the amount of free radicals in the bloodstream
