My hubby was down with fever last week and was thinking what to give him for dinner.. I thought oats will be a good idea, but he was sick of having the usual style and he wanted something different. So tried this recipe and to my surprise he couldn’t tell it was made of oats. This is a instant dosa and healthy too. Even for kids who dont like oats you can try this, and also add some grated vegs like carrot, radish ,cabbage or zucchini to it and they will not find it out easily.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups -Oats
  • ¼ cup- rice flour
  • ¼ tsp-grated ginger (optional)
  • 1-2 cups- curd or water
  • ½ cup grated carrot/zucchini/cabbage/radish(optional)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • salt to taste

Directions

  1. Heat a pan and dry roast the oats for 5 mins or so .
  2. Once cooled , grind oats coarsely .
  3. In a bowl, mix the oats with curd /water and other ingredients(cumin, ginger, salt) till the batter is in pouring consistency.
  4. Allow it to soak for 5-10 mins before you add the grated vegetables.
  5. Heat a griddle(non-stick) and pour ladle full the batter and spread it to a circle with the back of the ladle.
  6. You can sprinkle some chopped onions or coriander( optional) on the top of the dosa.
  7. Pour some oil on the edges to get crispy ends.
  8. You can flip the dosa or cover it with the lid for the other to cook.
  9. Serve it with chutney or any other side dish.
