How to Stop or delay aging?

Wow !! Is it possible to stay young and fit and delay aging? I always had my doubts. I have always wished to stay young and active. But due to the pollution and stress we under go as years pass by, aging really doesn’t even bother us anymore.

We try to reverse it or prevent it only when we see some symptoms of aging such as Grey hair , wrinkles, tiredness, fatigue and so on. But its too late. Whatever damage is done is done, only thing we can do is avoid further damage.

Aging is the changes that occur as we get older. It usually begins in adulthood , continues in middle age and finally take a huge leap at the age of fifty. Aging is universal but how rapidly we age is not. It changes from person to person depending on their lifestyle and food habits.

We can slow down the aging process and its consequences to some extend if we just follow some basic precautions . Below are a few tips which are easy to follow and stay young.

1.Vitamin E: This is the Vitamin which you must take to delay the aging. Take 100-400 UI doses per dayvitamin-e

It is not possible to get your daily intake of Vit E with the help of food we take daily as most of the Vit E exists in food which are high in fat such as nuts , seeds, oils( sunflower, corn oil) , whole grains and some vegetables. Only if we consume more than 5000 calories per day having these fatty foods we will get the sufficient amount of Vit E needed for the body. So the best choice is to take supplements.

If you want to live longer , eat lots of fruits and vegetables rich in Vit C. Some foods which are rich in Vit C are oranges,grapefruit, bell peppers, cantaloupe, papaya, berries like strawberries, blueberries, broccoli, tomatoes. If we have five serving per day of these Vit C rich foods, we don’t need supplements. If its not possible to take it though food we can take supplements . Best way is to take it 2-4 tablets(250 mg) a day instead of taking couple of 500mg tablets in a single dose as most of it will go out as urine.


3.Antiaging Antioxidant – beta carotene- 25000 UIbetacarotene

Though you take sufficient amount of Vit E and C, it is not sufficient without the help of the beta carotene as it helps to slow down the aging process.

Food rich in Betacarotene are carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, apricots, spinach and collard greens.

All these three vitamins together fights aging better than one or two alone.

We need atleast 1000 – 1500 mg of calcium intake to have the sufficient calcium intake. Food rich in calcium are milk, yogurt, kale, broccoli,cheese, tofu, salmon and calcium fortified food. On an average a glass of non fat milk contains 300mg .So effectively 3 glasses of milk atleast required per day to have the normal calcium intake to have our bones strong and have a good weight.

  • Avocado, berries( blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)
  • Broccoli
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Citrus fruits
  • Grapes
  • Onions
  • Spinach
  • tomatoes
